What phones that talks supports work with Verizon?
I know there's a list of phones on the Talks website, but it doesn't say what network they are on.
If I know what phones work with Verizon, then I can go and look on say CNET for reviews of them.
Older or newer doesn't matter. I'm still lookin into phones.
In fact i'm begginin to think that we should have an Accessible phones board! grins.
I mean, the mijority of the topics on here are about phones.... Its a huge interest for a lot of people, I get it.

hmmmm, verizon used to have the htc ozone with talks... I'm thinking I might get an ozone. I think accessiblephones.org might help you find the right verizon phones with talks... not sure how up to date that is, though.
Hope that helps,
Karrie

I've checked that one out, and while a cool research thing, its totaly not up to date.
I remember comein' across some mailin list on the web that said something about the Ozone.
But wanted to check to se if there was any others first.

They do have the OZone, but they don't carry it in the store, you'd have to get it online.

This isn't a smart phone, but just recently I got the Samsong Haven, you might want to check that one out.

Yeah. I've taken a peak at the podcast i found on the Sansung Haven. Sounds really cool, except for the fact that it doesn't use elaquince.

Still not bad, I think it's worth looking at.

I'm half deaf and do not understand most speech outputs very well. Elaquence is the easiest for me personally.

the ozone isn't bad. The keyboard is really small though.

I have the Ozone right now, but will switch to the iPhone next month!

Hmm I do not use talks but I do have a phone simular to the Iphone4 as far as how then it is when its not in its case. its the HD2 it to is a totally touch screen phone. :) very sexy, it has a fm tuner, and a whole list of apps preinstalled. Also :) its quite light and runs very nicely with using moble speak with it. The down side for VZ customers its on T-mobile. :)

VZ had the original HD, but it was replaced with the Imagio. I doubt we're gonna see any WM6 phones come out of them, so if you really want Talks, the Ozone is your best bet, and you have to order the version with Talks.

Talks is predominantly Symbian-based, so very few Verizon phones will work with it, other than the ones that will work with the Windows Mobile version.

Post 13 by Jesse (Hmm!) on Friday, 21-Jan-2011 7:34:03

Even then, Verizon has to sanction it, and it can be only Wm6 standard. It doesn't work with touch screen phones at all. That leaves the Ozone.

does VZN phones come with talks or do we have to buy it separately? What phones come with talks so we don't have to buy it/

As they have said the Ozone comes with, but seems like to me a call to Verizon could answer this question faster?

The Ozone was the only verizon phone u could get with talks. And from what i heard Talks was so horrible on this phone and the Motorola Q before it that A) people ended up shelling out full price for mobile speak anyways, & B) its pretty much been discontinued for windows mobile based phones like which what the two phones mentioned above wer. If you want to use talks on your phone go to AT&T and or TMobile and get a nokia phone, as you will have plenty more choices. That being said ... its cheaper in the end to get an iPhone now anyways on either verizon or AT&T.

I have the Ozone because it was the only fully accessible phone Verizon carried when I went for my upgrade at the beginning of July. Personally, I wish I had known the Haven was coming out a month from then because I would have waited until it was available. It often goes into flight mode or is put on silent unbeknownst to me, and it freezes easily. You will also be forced to buy an expensive data plan, whether you plan to use email, the internet, etc. or not.

I have a friend who has the haven he told me its sluggish, some days I get from him he wants to takethe phone and throw it across the room.
